Welcome to the Handmade Holiday Blog hop... where we hope to inspire you to create your very own holiday treasures! Eash blog you visit will have holiday treats for you to enjoy! AND if you leave a comment here at the end of the blog hop on November 12th I will draw a name and send you the tree shown in this tutorial!
1. Copper tree about 6 inches tall, either purchased or cut from copper sheet and jax Copper Patina for the blueish finsh.
2. Ice Resin® and Ice Resin® paper sealer
3. The following Rue Romantic® bezels:
4. Small piece of paper scrap, mine is a little angel on a cloud.
5. Several small gilttered stars.
6. Snippets of ribbon
7 A bit of fishing line or other transparent cord for tying on bezels.
8. Hole punch for metal
Cut your tree from copper sheeting or if you have a small metal tree... use if for the base of this project.
If you are cutting the tree from copper sheet, be sure to file or sand the edges so it is not sharp to the touch.
Add a coat of Jax Copper patina, I usually let mine dry naturally over a few hours, but if you are in a hurry you can use a heat tool for drying.
Cut, the paper image from you scrap paper, coat it with Ice Resin@ paper sealer and let dry.
Set out your glittered stars, paper image, and the bezels you are using.
Prepare the Ice Resin® according to package directions and be sure to stir the full 2 minutes.
Set your bezels on a flat surface. Pour a little resin into the bottom of the bezel. Add you paper image and stars to the bezels, continue to fill with resin, but do not over fill.
Let the bezels sit over night to dry.
Using a metal punch, put holes in the "branches" of the copper tree.
Using the fishing line or transparent cord, tie each of the bezels into the holes you have punched.
Tie ribbon to the top of each bezel... I also added a bit of silver cord around the bottom of the tree.
Attach a cord to the top for hanging...
Enjoy you lovely Handmade Holiday Tree..
