For the past few years the lovely Canton Historical Museum has presented a festival of trees as their holiday fund raiser..this is a sweet little museum showcasing much of the Canton/Collinsville History. The building was part of the Collins Company an Axe Factory started by Sam Collins in 1826. I don't know how many trees will be donated this year, but the number grows yearly and the trees are a delight. Here is my tree for this year.. it is a table or mantel piece...the base with the deer came from my favorite shop "The Junk Shop" in Canton. The Santa is one of my spun cotton figures and the tree is tinsel with a glass bird garland and lights! All the proceeds from the sale go to help the museun.
The show at Autumn Lights in Avon Ct., has been resheduled for this Saturday November,12th. The festivities will begin at 6:30 and below if a preview of some of the fabulous piece you will see in this amazing gallery. And Congratulations to Chris and Jerry on their one year anniversary...!!!
Sitting at my computer last Saturday night ( October 29th) I was just about to post some Halloween digital art and poof... off went the lights, gone was the internet, phone and cable...hum I thought start the generator and the services will come back before the night is over... Slightly.. wrong... 6 days and nights and many, many trips for gas to fill the generator. And finally return of power on the evening of the 6th day and on the 7th day ...internet and phone returned. Honestly, it is hard to describe the destruction... I took no pictures because they would pale in comparision to the real images... which in many ways were breathtaking.. and heartbreaking at the same time.
So, while I missed the real Halloween.. I am having a pretend Halloween tonight.. Happy Halloween everyone...!
