When I was a child, May was the gateway to the summer and Memorial Day something to be looked forward to with great anticipation. We had a summer home on Lake Huron at the tip of the thumb and May meant the gardener and such would be preparing the house for the summer and our first trip of the season "Decoration Day"! I loved "Decoration Day" - or Memorial Day and the poppies
which would be blooming in abundance.I was looking about today for
Memorial Day traditions and came across this poem by Moina Michael...
I loved going to Art and Soul this year - though it was a quick trip - it was a lot of fun and so great to catch up with a few friends while I was there. Here is a picture of my table on vendor night. And I want to send a huge "Thank You" to everyone who stopped by to say hello or buy an item. I just love all the wonderful people I meet and talk to - so much great energy!

Here are a couple more pieces coming to Art and Soul with me. My car was in the garage three times this week, yes three times. So, I spent the time at home in the studio finishing some work and decided to bring these two with me...The first one is a large specimen shadowbox "The New Shoes" The second is a smaller specimen box with some disappointed children!!
